The Simple Things

So I was going through my photos looking for one that really makes me smile... and truth be told... they all do.  Then I looked out my window and saw all this growing!  

And there was the smile.  : )  I'm trying my hand at some simple gardening this summer.  Basil and tomatoes.  The basil is coming in great.  Tomatoes... eh, we'll see.  Cherry tomatoes look ok.  Big tomatoes, not so much.  But look at my basil!! :)  Going to attempt to make some pesto sauce this week with it.  Yum.   I know.. exciting... but it's the simple things in life.  And then there's this.... 

Love pictures of my kids on the beach... exploring and finding new and exciting things.  They could stay there for hours.  They love the water and digging and playing in the sand.  Collecting shells and trying to bring home new creatures.   I guess that's what puts a smile on their face.  It's the simple things.
